Overview

It's easy to feel frustrated at meetings -- you get disrupted by others, miscommunicate when emotions get in the way, or forget what you said during fierce debates. Addressing these problems, our team developed AhaMeeting, a cloud-based AI assistant. It recognizes individual speaker's voice, and provides a detailed transcript as well as content analysis report. No more worrying about taking notes during important meetings, and just focus on discussing ideas.

AhaMeeting won the Best Microsoft Cognitive Services Hack at the inaugural Global AI Hackathon.

MY ROLE
I was the sole product designer on this project. Working with 3 engineers, I lead the research and brainstorming sessions to develop product features that address workplace productivity issues. Based on the parameters set by our product strategy, I designed the user interface.

CHALLENGES + PROCESS
We approached this problem from the users' perspective, while keeping in mind the technologies that were available to us. We focused on making an MVP, so the analysis report adapted the features available on IBM Watson tone analyzer and Microsoft Azure cognitive services. Moving forward, I want to give users tools to customize how they view the report, and be able to see meeting productivity changes through time.

The product UI features a graphic overview of each attendee's behavior, as well as each their detailed communication style analysis report.
